Simply Irresistible

May 20, 2012 - June 10, 2012

Temptation and sin are not only a problem for the unsaved. They are also a problem for believers in Jesus Christ. In fact, many times believers get involved in the exact same kinds of sordid activities as unbelievers. This is why in the church at Corinth you had Christians going as prostitutes and Christians getting drunk (at the communion table no less) and Christians quarreling with one another, etc. The Corinthian church even had one member whacking up with his step mother! Sound familiar? Of course it does, for again the practices found in the church at Corinth are often mirrored by believers today.

Yet these practices do not square with the will of God for His children. On the contrary, God desires that we live holy lives in thought, word, and deed. “Be holy for I am holy” – 1st Peter 1:16. In this four week series we will explore just how that is possible. We will; see why and for how long Christians have to wrestle with sin, why it is of utmost importance to root sin out of our lives, the strategies that must be utilized to live victoriously, and what to do when you stumble and fall.
